Red worked in construction all of his life and was employed by Joseph L. Pohl Construction in Nevada. He was member of the Nevada Elks #564 and Nevada Eagles. Red was a hard worker all of his life and loved helping others. He dearly loved his little dog Tiny and watching the squirrels and hummingbirds. He enjoyed fishing, western movies, and music.
Survivors include Michelle Boydston and her son Dylan, Nevada; one niece, Ronda Ann Young, Kansas City, MO; his dog Tiny; and his many friends at the Nevada Elks and Nevada Eagles Lodges. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Welmer Young.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Roger Beach officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
