On January 12th 2018 the Barton County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call of a chicken house that had caught on fire. The fire was on Northwest 60th Road just off of V highway in Barton County.The Lamar fire department along with the Barton County Sheriff's Office responded to the call.
The fire is believed to have been accidental with a motor that may have shorted out and set the insulation in the wall on fire.
