Update: One arrested after Linn County Police Chase ends near Rich Hill

On January 13, 2018 dispatch advised a Deputy about a failure to yield in progress from Linn County, Kansas which had crossed into Bates County and was currently in the Hume area. 

Dispatch then advised the Deputy that the vehicle had left the roadway north of County Road 6007 and entered a field. The Deputy started to attempt to locate the subject in the field. 

The vehicle was located in the northern most part of the field and had its driver side door open and was unoccupied. A K9 unit was called to the scene. The K9 located the suspect in a small crevice next to a tree. Near where the subject was found, the Deputy located a small bundle that held drug paraphernalia and bags with a crystal substance inside them.

The male subject identified as Louie Martin (DOB 12/2/1968) was placed under arrest and was transported to the Bates County Sheriff’s Office.

Martin was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 grams or less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. His bond was set at $7500.00 cash or surety.
