Obituary - Pauline A. McKinley

Pauline A. McKinley, 83, of Clinton, Missouri passed away peacefully Thursday, February 15, 2018 at her home with her family surrounding her.

She was born November 12, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of John Alois Smolnik and Agnes Magdalene (Trouba) Smolnik.

Pauline was united in marriage to Jimmie Dale McKinley on January 12, 1957 in Bolivar, Mo. He preceded her in death October 22, 2016.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, raising a vegetable garden, fishing, and being outside. Her greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Roger McKinley and his wife Patty, Clinton, MO., and Brian McKinley and his wife Roberta, Clinton, MO.; granddaughter, Amy (McKinley) Sockwell and her husband Cecil, Jr., Clinton, MO.; two grandsons, Jonathon McKinley, Clinton, MO., and Christopher McKinley and his wife Sarah, Clinton, MO.; step-granddaughter, Amy Nims and her husband, Jason, Clinton, MO.; four great-grandchildren, Lana Sockwell, Cecil Sockwell, III, Preston McKinley, and Brooklyn McKinley; two step-great-grandchildren, Tyler Nims and Quenten Nims; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Virginia McElwee and Olga DuPont.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Clinton, MO., with Father Jim Taranto, Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO. Friends may call from noon to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family suggests memorial contributions to Bright Futures or Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and these donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
