Obituary - Theodore (Ted) Alden Wareham

Theodore (Ted) Alden Wareham was born December 28, 1945 in Clinton, Missouri to Harold and Ida Bell (Newberry) Wareham. Ted was the youngest of 4 brothers, Jerome, Douglas (Jack) and Dudley. He graduated from Clinton Senior High School in 1963 and was awarded best looking.

Ted married Linda Lou Batschelett on August 7, 1965. They loved being outdoors and taking drives with each other and the dogs in the country. Ted and Linda raised German Weimaraner puppies together. Ted enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, quail hunting and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed watching and feeding birds and watching the nature channels on TV. Ted also loved to travel; he always looked forward to family vacations which were usually epic road trips to Florida, California, Wyoming and Arizona. He and Linda took frequent trips to Florida, Mississippi and Alabama.

Ted had many occupations including Peabody Coal Company where he was a mechanic and welder and operated Heavy Equipment until it closed, he could repair almost anything that was made of metal, he helped found the Dallas Lounge and Texas Room. He was a truck driver for many years and drove from coast to coast and would even bring the family along for some epic rides across the country. He would clean, polish and maintain the semi-truck nearly every weekend and would ensure that Clint and Ryan assisted in the maintenance, and assisted with the office and retail side of Wizard Lawn and Landscape where he worked with Clint from 1996 until he retired in 2012 to help care for Linda. Ted enjoyed work and spending most free time fixing or fabricating something in his shop. He spent weekends with Linda and enjoyed relaxing with friends and family around the backyard pool.

Ted was a member of the Clinton Elks Lodge, the Clinton Eagles Lodge and a Tennessee Squire. He was also a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ida Bell, and his wife Linda in 2013.

Ted is survived by his two sons, Clinton Alden Wareham and his wife Jill of Clinton, MO, Ryan Dehn Wareham and his wife Amy of Lenexa, KS; four grandchildren, Sierra, Gavin, Sydney, and Corbin; his three brothers, Jerome (Sharon) of Clinton, MO, Douglas (Jack) (Deanna) of Leeton, MO, and Dudley (Patsy) of Montrose, MO and several nieces and nephews.

Ted will lie in state on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5-8pm at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11am also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery, LaDue, MO. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to Bear Creek Cemetery and may be left in care of the funeral home.
