Officers of the Lamar police department and deputies of the Sheriff’s Office held a Perimeter around the home on Broadway Street to keep traffic from driving down the Street while SWAT officers executed the warrant. Two people were located inside the residence and was called out of the home by the swat team. Two minor children where also in the home.
The Department of Family Services was called and responded to the home and took custody of the two children. The children were placed in a safe environment with other family members. While Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT officers were clearing the home two subjects in a vehicle was returning to the residence.
When they saw all the Law Enforcement Officers they attempted to flee from officers in the 700 block of Poplar/Mill street. Those two people were the individuals who resided at the home and the people of interest in the case. They where stopped by our officers working together and taken into custody without incident. Deputies and a officer from the O.D.E.T. drug task force conducted the investigation and search of the home.
At the conclusion of the investigation no stolen property was found inside the residence however, drug paraphernalia commonly used to use the drug methamphetamine was discovered inside the home. The drug paraphernalia located in the home will be sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crime lab for analysis. All reports will be forwarded to the Barton County Prosecuting Attorney for consideration in filing of formal criminal charges once lab reports return. Two of the individuals detained where arrested on active City Municipal warrants.
Caleb E. Langford, age 23, of Lamar was arrested on an outstanding warrant for contempt of court. He has a cash only bond amount of $1,365.50. Langford is currently incarcerated at the Barton County Sheriff’s Office.
Dwayne W. Taylor, age 31, of Lamar was arrested on and outstanding City municipal warrant for contempt of court. Taylor posted a bond and was released. The sheriff would like to thank the agencies and officers who assisted in this investigation.
A 23 year of age female and a 26 year of age female that was detained during the investigation was released pending lab results of drug paraphernalia located during the investigation.
