Bruce Edward Base passed away peacefully at his home in Rich Hill, Missouri, on March 29, 2018. He was the youngest son of Gilmer Lee and Alice R (Black) Base, born on September 29, 1963 in Butler, Missouri. He attended Rich Hill High School, later getting his GED. Shortly after completing his education he began a career as an auto body-man, where he worked out of his own shop in Rich Hill. He also worked as a shuttle driver for Ford Motor Company for many years. In 1995 Bruce settled down with the love of his life, Jennifer Bain, at their home in Rich Hill, Missouri, where they lived until she lost her battle with cancer in 2017. To this union one daughter was born, Karly.
Apart from his family, the great love of Bruce’s life was motorcycles.
He deeply enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson on warm spring days all over the countryside. He was an extremely caring spirit, who always asked about everyone and took care of his family. Bruce was an avid fan of the saddest country music produced and later in life began listening to gospel music as well. He will be truly missed by his friends, family, and all that had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jennifer Bain; his father, Gilmer Base; and a stepson Casey Bain.
Bruce is survived by his daughter Karly Alexander (Seth), 2 sons, Zack Base and Jade Ellis; a stepdaughter, Sarah Hood; his mother, Alice Koehn (Archie); 2 brothers, Steve Base (Kelly) and Loren Base (Teresa), and one sister, Almeta Goossen (Orlando); along with many more family and friends.
