Donna Eileen Deems Post, age 90 of Butler, Missouri died Monday, February 26, 2018 at Serenity of Butler. She was born August 17, 1927 to John Clyde and Olive Elizabeth Searfus Deems in Butler, Missouri.
Donna grew up in Butler and graduated from Butler High School in 1946. She married Orin Post and together they raised two sons. Donna lived in Kansas City and Raytown where she worked as a dental assistant and for the Internal Revenue Service. She and Orin wintered in Bonita Springs, Florida for 20 years before moving back to her hometown in Butler permanently in the late 1990s. They also had a home in Camdenton, Missouri at Lake of the Ozarks. Donna was a member of the Community of Christ in Butler.
Donna was caring, thoughtful, independent, very smart, loved her sons and grandchildren and everyone loved her. She always had a smile for everyone. She was an artist and sold many of her works of art. She had a wonderful and loving relationship with Orin--they were crazy about each other and their family. They traveled the lower 48 states of the US with their two sons.
Donna is survived by her son, William (Bill) Post of Leesburg, Virginia and grandchildren Stephanie and Nicholas; her son, Richard (Rick) Post and wife Marianne of Medford, New Jersey and grandchildren Candice and Doug; two sisters, Dixie Harper and husband Theron of Lawrence, KS and Lynda Humphreys of Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orin in 2010; three Deems brothers, Lloyd, Harley and Lelan; and two sisters, Helen Sweezy and Shirley Spears.
