Nevada Police Department make arrest during search warrant

In the afternoon hours of Wednesday, April 4, 2018 Nevada Police executed a search warrant in the 1600 block of N. Main Street in response to reports of illegal drug activity at that location.

Officers had developed information regarding a known male subject at that location that had reportedly been involved in illegal drug activity.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with multiple subjects on the property. During the initial entry officers made contact with the known male subject inside the residence.

Police located and seized a significant amount of suspected illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. Suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and synthetic cannabinoids, (better known as K2 or spice) were seized from the residence.

Officers also located and seized two handguns in the subject’s bedroom after determining the subject was prohibited from possessing firearms. In addition to the firearms and illegal narcotics, a large sum of cash suspected to be proceeds from the distribution of illegal narcotics was discovered and seized.

The suspected drug evidence seized is being sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab for further analysis.

Police arrested one subject identified as Justin Nolan, age 27 of Nevada. Nolan was transported to the Vernon County Jail for investigation of delivery of a controlled substance.

On Thursday April 5, 2018 the following charges were filed against Nolan through the Vernon County Associate Court:

Two (2) Counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Class C Felony

One (1) Count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm – Class D Felony

Nolan is being held in the Vernon County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash only bond.
