BCMH Installs new telephone system

BUTLER, Mo. – To better serve our patients and community, Bates County Memorial Hospital will install a new telephone system. This will take place on May 16, 2018 starting at 6:00 p.m. The ambulance phone line (660-200-7070) will be operational at all times. Critical areas, including the hospital’s main line (660-200-7000) should be available again by 7:00 pm. All phone lines are expected to be operational by midnight.

Marcia Cook, Chief Information Officer at BCMH, stated, “The update to the phone system is vital due to the age of the current system - parts and service are no longer available. Enhanced communication capabilities for callers and employees will be available through this new system.”

The priority at Bates County Memorial Hospital, as always, is the care of our patients. BCMH Information Systems staff have spent many months preparing for this transition. Staff will be trained on the new technology the phone system offers. The hospital has taken precautionary steps to ensure patient safety during this process through the use of other internal communication methods.
