Drug arrest in Clinton

On 5-4-18 at 7:43 p.m., Officer Derek Foreman conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the parking lot of O'Reilly's Auto Parts.

The passenger in the vehicle, later identified as Joseph Paschal , exited the vehicle and ran into the business.

Officer Foreman contacted the driver of the vehicle, Nathan Nida and waited for a back up officer. Officer Foreman located Paschal inside of the business and it was determined Paschal had hidden marijuana inside the business. Paschal was placed under arrest.

A subsequent search of the vehicle located the following items by Nida's feet: Two baggies with a crystalline substance in it believed to be methamphetamine as well as a syringe with a liquid substance inside of it believed to be methamphetamine.

Mr. Nida was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Paschal was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.
