From the Harrisonville Police Department

On 05-24-18 at approximately 1350 hours, Harrisonville Police Officers were dispatched to a reported attempted abduction.

Officers contacted the mother of the child who reported that her son, a 12-year-old was walking home from a business on the square when a subject driving a black mini-van with blacked out windows with a blue sticker in the back window that said, “Revenge” pulled up to him and told him to get into the van. This occurred near the intersection of Butler Drive and Wall Street.

The 12-year-old reported that the driver of the van was wearing a mask. The 12-year-old who was caring a skateboard, hit the subject with the skateboard and fled the area. At this time, we do not have a suspect description other than it was a male of unknown race and age.

Officers are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information should contact the Harrisonville Police Department or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477). No further information is available or going to be released at this time.
