Hume Community News 5/22/18

Gayla Swarens, Robbie & Jacinda Sullins and girls, Heather Sullins and Aaron hosted a Mothers Day hosted a Mother’s Day Luncheon at the Lamar Park. Those attending were Wilma & Shane Swarens, Pam & Adam Swarens, Scott & Amanda Litzman & sons, Bill & Cheryl Gillette, Gloria Shollenberger & children Patti Olmstead, Beau & Elisabeth Swopes & girls.

Jason and Cassie Irwin, Bennett & Isaac hosted a Mother’s Day cook out at their home South of Nevada. Those who enjoyed the day were Everett and Karen Irwin, Carrie Brooks and Marissa, Cathie & Ryan Wooldridge, Paxton and Easton, Jeffrey and Erika Irwin, Lane, Kenzee and Kamee.

Wilma Swarens went to Des Moines, Iowa last Friday with her daughter, Patti, where they met up with her daughter Elisabeth Swopes and her 3 daughters, Kyndal, Kaylea and Kamryn. Patti’s son, Seth Olmstead and his 5 year old daughter, Alley joined them for the weekend. On Saturday they went to the Blank Zoo then went back to the motel and enjoyed the pool and hot tub inside while it rained outside. Seth and Alley left to go back to Wisconsin on Sunday morning, until they head back to Guam at the end of the week. Everyone else headed back to Missouri. On the way back Wilma and Patti took the back roads from Passaic to Hume where they both reminisced of times past.

The Hume Alumni will be this Saturday, May 26, please note the Alumni starts at 6:00 p.m. this year. Also if you ever went to Hume School you are more than welcome to come. Cost for the meal and dues are $12.00 per person. Come and enjoy visiting and catching up on old times. Heather Rogers is the emcee for the Alumni this year.

The Hume Fair is looking for Prince and Princess Candidates ages 5 to 12 years of age and Rodeo Queen candidates ages 13 to 18 years of age. If interested call 660-643-7637 or 7121. This year’s theme is “Something Old~Something New Forever Red, White and Blue. We will be honoring our Veteran’s, we would like to have their name and information on their service listed in the fair paper. Please call 660-643-7637 for more information. The Hume Fair dates this year are: July 31 through August 4.
