Bettie was born October 28, 1930 in Rockville, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Giles Eli “Jack” and Laura Alberta “Lottie” (Dade) Griggs and her infant sister Shirley Sue, as well as her half-brothers Howard K. and Hillard E. Griggs. She joined the Catholic Church and was married for over thirty years to the father of her children, Donald Victor Alt (deceased). Bettie was a member of Nevada, Missouri’s St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society for many years.
She is survived by her children: Dennis (Nancy) Alt, of Shawnee, KS, David (Susan) Alt, Nevada, IA, and Laura (Joel) Ramsey, Girard, KS, grandchildren: Nathan Alt (Brandi), Kelsey Alt, Patrick Alt (Kimberly), Laura Alt, Joshua Ramsey, Denton Ramsey (Suzy), Reed Ramsey and Dane Ramsey (Alli) and great-grandchildren Cooper Alt, Thayer Alt, Bryce Ramsey and Brody Ramsey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Peter Savidge officiating. Rosary will be at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Ferry Funeral Home with Visitation following until 7:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Nevada. Memorials are suggested in her memory to the American Diabetes Association in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
