Nancy was born on January 25, 1940, to Jack and Mada Lou Morrisey in Wellington, Kansas. Jack was born on June 16, 1937, to Homer and Marguerite Henning in Emporia, KS. Both families eventually settled in Ottawa, Kansas.
After two and a half years at the University of Kansas, Nancy was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She then went on to become an airline stewardess for TWA. Jack graduated from Emporia State University and he and Nancy married in 1962, and moved to Kansas City to raise their growing family.
Jack will always be known as a legend in the Kansas City Investment Banking community. He was truly the ultimate salesman’s manager. He retired in 2003, as Midwest Regional Manager with A.G. Edwards. Nancy spent her life caring for her children and grandchildren. She was also a trusted and much called upon volunteer for many organizations. One of her favorite experiences through the years was her time spent volunteering for the International Visitors Council of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce where she hosted and entertained diplomats and visitors from many countries.
Jack and Nancy were very devoted to their Catholic faith and together they were involved in their parish and gave generously of their time, talent and treasure. They enjoyed traveling and together they saw much of this world. Spending time with their family and especially their grandchildren was the highlight of their daily lives. They made lifelong friends in each of their neighborhoods and always welcomed all into their home. Jack loved golf, watching the stock market, his Chiefs, his Royals, the KSU Wildcats and delving into a wager here and there! Nancy loved nature, wild flowers, and the Flint Hills. They both loved to play bridge and listen to country music tuning into Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash.
They were preceded in death by their parents and their grandson, Nick Henning.
They leave behind their siblings, Tom (Sharon) Morrisey, Teresa (Rick) Jamison, Mark (Cyndi) Morrisey, Cynthia Henning and Mary Ann (Rich) Hopkins; Their five children and their spouses, John and Veronica Henning, Gunnar and Sabrina Henning, Heidi Henning, Hamp and Nikki Henning, and Gretchen and John Sullivan; Their grandchildren, Jack Henning, Megan (John) Ismert, Mary Elizabeth Henning, Browder and Brendan Henning, Josie and James Weck, Nelle, Hamp, Gunnar and Teddy Henning, Riley, Kevin, Declan and Blaise Sullivan; their great granddaughter, Lydia Ismert and many nieces and nephews and close friends.
