The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the south bound 2002 Jeep Liberty driven by 23 year old Misty Allmond of Richards, Missouri crossed the center line of traffic and struck 1995 Peterbilt semi truck driven by 19 year old Trevor Pettibon of Nevada, Missouri head on.
A one year old female in the vehicle Marli L. Allmond of Richards, Missouri was pronounced dead at Nevada Regional Medical Center shortly before 2:00pm.
Three other people were injured in this accident Misty Allmond sustained serious injuries and was flown to KU Medical Center for treatment. Another passenger in her vehicle 23 year old Lane Allmond of Richards, Missouri sustained moderate injuries in this this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The semi truck driver Trevor Pettibon sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Garwood's Wrecker Service of Nevada, Missouri.
This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 5th Fatality Accident in the month of June and the 52nd for the year 2018.
