The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2006 Toyota Tundra driven by 44 year old Karl O. Blaser of Butler, Missouri slowed due to traffic congestion when he was struck in the rear by 2004 Peterbilt semi truck driven by 63 year old Perry L. Mcleod of Aurora, Missouri causing the Toyota truck to overturn and travel off the right side of the roadway.
The Peterbilt semi truck continued on to strike 2 other vehicles before coming to rest.
Karl O. Blaser was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and he was transported to the Jackson County Medical Examiners Office.
All vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by J's Southland Tow and Lazer Tow.
