Fitzpatrick in Bates County Court today

A bench trial is scheduled to get underway at 1:00 pm this afternoon at the Bates County Courthouse in the States case against Aimee Fitzpatrick.

In November of 2014 Fitzpatrick was charged with 2 counts of Rape and Sodomy and 2 counts of child endangerment. Court documents allege that Fitzpatrick acted with Richard Purkey in the commission of the crime.

In February Purkey 70, pleaded guilty to the same charges and was sentenced to 27 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. Purkey has waived a trial by jury.

Judge Darnold will preside over today’s proceedings. Hugh C. Jenkins will represent the State.

Fitzpatrick has been free on bond since the charges were filed in 2014.
