Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off Will be June 9th

Harrisonville residents can safely dispose of many hazardous household items, Saturday, June 9, 8 a.m. until noon, when the city hosts the annual MARC Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off in the Street Department lot, 1403 S. Independence.

Many items commonly used in homes are considered toxic to the environment. These can include paint, cleansers, lawn and garden products, automotive fluids, bug sprays, fluorescent lights, batteries and other chemical products. If a product is labeled with the words Danger, Warning or Caution, it is best to dispose of it through the Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off program.

Please bring proof of residency inside the city limits. For questions or more information on recycling in the Kansas City area, visit the Recycle Spot website, http://www.recyclespot.org and click on the Hazardous Waste tab.
