Obituary - Glen Sheets

Glen Sheets, 91, Nevada, MO passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at his home in Nevada. Glen was born April 10, 1927 in Nevada to Albro C. and Edna Mae (Kibler) Sheets.

Glen was raised in Nevada and attended Nevada High School. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Marines and was stationed in Camp LeJeune during WWII. Following his service years Glen was employed as a Tool and Die Maker for over 50 years in Wichita and Kansas City. In 1992 he retired from Northrup in Kansas City and returned to Nevada where he has continued to reside. He was member of the Nevada Elks BPO #564 in Nevada.

Survivors include two sons, Glen Sheets, Jr. and his wife Patricia, Wichita, KS, Paul Sheets and his wife Shelley, Flint, MI; three daughters, Virginia Haver and her husband Mel, Dallas, TX, Sandra Guaino, and her husband Paul, Independence, MO, Connie Sheets-Thomas, Blue Springs, MO; 17 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Herbert Sheets; two sisters, Virginia Mitchem, and Joy Mynatt

. Glen was a loving father and will be missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel in Nevada with Rev. Sharon Freeman officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Newton Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
