One arrested after police chase from Missouri ends in Kansas

On 6/25/18 the Barton County Sheriff's Office attempted to pull over a blue 2002 Saturn the was involved in a gas drive-off in Liberal, Missouri. 

The vehicle was reported stolen from a dealership in Pittsburg, Kansas in the last few days.

The Barton County Sheriff's Office believed that two people were in the vehicle, including 34-year-old Jeremiah Casey.

The vehicle fled from deputies and a pursuit went from Missouri to Kansas where authorities got information that Casey was hiding in a house on S. Military Street in Mulberry. Crawford County, Kansas Deputies responded to assist in the arrest.

Authorities found Mr. Casey hiding in the house and arrested him without incident. The homeowner told deputies that Mr. Casey knocked on his door and when he answered Casey forced his way inside the home.

Mr. Casey had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Bourbon County, Kansas for a probation violation. Authorities in Barton County have requested Casey be charged with theft and fleeing and eluding. 

Mr. Casey could also be charged in Crawford County, Kansas with aggravated burglary and felony obstruction.

The Crawford County Sheriff's Office says an unknown female driver left the area in the stolen vehicle after Casey got out. She has not been found.
