Last December Adrian firefighter Doug Davis suffered a massive stroke at his home. Today, Doug continues to make improvements and his overall good condition is due strongly in part to an expedited response from Bates County EMS and LifeFlight Eagle personnel. Yesterday evening, those responders were recognized by the Adrian fire department and the city council as all were treated to dinner, followed by a brief ceremony at city hall. Two awards were presented, one from the city of Adrian for each group, and one for each individual from Adrian fire as an expression of thanks for a job, as always, well done.
From the time of the initial call, Davis was transported to Research Hospital in very close to one hour total- as one hour or less between the time of the stroke and reaching a trauma center greatly improves the odds of survival and recovery. While these professionals extend the same professional swiftness in any case, this time it was for someone who also is usually helping others, much like them. For a Doug Davis, it means a new lease on life, including lots of time with a new grandchild.
When time matters, LifeFlight Eagle gets victims to trauma centers with lifesaving results. You can learn more about their services here www.lifeflighteagle.org
