Charles (Chuck) Mackey, age 90, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on June 7, 2018, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Monday, June 11, 2018, at Belton Assembly of God Church, 613 E. North Avenue, Belton, Missouri, 64012. Burial with Military Honors will take place at the Belton Cemetery.
Chuck was born on April 20, 1928, in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Walter E. Mackey, Sr. and Lillie Bernice (Munson) Mackey.
During the spring of 1946, Chuck entered into the United States AirForce and served his country during the Korean War. After 23 years of service, Chuck retired as a Master Sergeant from the Air Force while stationed at Perrin Air Force Base, Texas. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association.
On February 27, 1953, Chuck was united in marriage with Wilma K. Ladd in Seymour, Missouri. Together, Chuck and Wilma were blessed with four children, John, Mona, Sharla, and Becky. Charles and Wilma shared over 63 years of marriage.
For over 25 years, Chuck worked for Cotter and Company True Value Hardware.
He was a valued, beloved member of the Belton Assembly of God Church where he served as Deacon, treasurer, custodian, and facilities maintenance.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sr. and Lillie Mackey; his wife, Wilma K. Mackey (Oct. 24, 2016); and his five siblings.
Chuck is survived by his children, John C. Mackey (Angelika), Mona R. Fredrick (Richard), Sharla L. Mackey, and Becky S. Hand (Max); eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
