Melvin grew up in the Burns, KS area. He lived and farmed in Walker, MO for the past 60 years.
Survivors include his two children, Vickie Koehn and Marlo Lavern Koehn both of Walker; four grandchildren, Robyn Schmidt and her husband Darren, El Campo, TX, Jamin Koehn and his wife Amanda, Milo, MO, Brian Koehn and his wife Hollie, Glenpool, Ok and Carla Litwiller and her husband Dylan, Versailles, MO; 10 great grandchildren, Logan, Kolby, Kole, Rion, Benjamin, Bridgette, Miles, Braxton, Kaiden and Adalyn; one sister, Arleta Koehn, Moundridge, KS; and one brother, Clyde Koehn, Moundridge, KS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, his parents and two sons, Monty and Doug Koehn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Living Faith Mennonite Church, Walker, MO. Interment will follow in Living Faith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO.
