Butler woman arrested in St. Clair County

On Aug. 5, Tanya Fuller, 43, Butler, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Fuller was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to the area of NW 1001 and Highway A in reference to a suspicious vehicle.

Deputies arrived in the area and one deputy made contacted with Fuller at the vehicle. The other deputy made contact with Fuller’s boyfriend who was walking down Highway A.

Fuller stated that her and her boyfriend had got into an argument and he left the vehicle and started walking down the road. The deputy noticed three children playing in the back seat of the vehicle. 

A deputy asked Fuller if there was anything illegal in the vehicle. Fuller did admit to having a methamphetamine pipe and a zip lock baggie of methamphetamine in her purse. A K9 unit was called to the scene and conducted an exterior sniff test of the vehicle. 

The K9 did alert to the presence of narcotics. During a search of the vehicle the pipe and a baggie of crystal like substance was recovered from Fuller’s purse.
