At approximately 2230 hours, deputies responded to the business at the request of the owner for threats received. The owner stated a man, later identified as Schapeler, was upset over a pool game and claimed he was going to return to the business and kill everyone.
Schapeler did return to the business at 2318 hours with a shotgun, firing several rounds into vehicles and the building. One patron outside the building who witnessed the shooting, returned fire, shooting one round at the suspects vehicle.

No persons were injured during the shooting and Schapeler was taken into custody in Henry County without incident. Henry County Deputies armed with a search warrant were able to recover Schapeler’s vehicle, the shotgun with buckshot and a rifle.
Charges were files for ARMED CRIMINAL ACTION, ASSAULT 1ST DEGREE, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON AND PROPERTY DAMAGE 1ST DEGREE.
Mr. Schapeler is being held in the Benton County Jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond
