Ellen Flora Yurk, 83, of Nevada, MO passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Freeman Health System West. Ellen was born on February 6, 1935 in Nevada to James Daniel and Velie Vina (Strain) Bowen.
She married Billie A. Yurk on May 15, 1952 in Nevada and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1996.
Ellen attended schools in Nevada. She worked as a seamstress at Nellie Don Clothing Manufacturing and later at Joe Clark Residential Care. She enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her four children, Billy Joe Yurk, El Dorado Springs, MO, E. Lu’Deen Nichols and her husband Michael, Bonaire, GA, Owen Willis Yurk and his wife Sheila, Moundville, MO and Willard Anthony Yurk, Nevada; granddaughter Antonia Davis and great grandchildren Iszach, Trinity, and Nathan Bumbaugh, and one sister, Doris Whalan, Nevada. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Caleb.
A memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Daniel officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
