Obituary - Melvin Lee Ransier

Melvin Lee Ransier age 86 of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Melvin was born Saturday, April 23, 1932 in Pleasanton, Kansas the son of Otis and Sarah Jane (Hartman) Ransier. Melvin served in the United States Army for five years. He was a member of the United Mine Workers and was a retired coal miner. 

Melvin loved mushroom hunting and fishing. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Mary Ransier, six brothers Pete, Floyd, Earnest, Grover, Gene and Dick, and two sisters Helen and Floretta. He is survived by four sons, Robert McCallum, David, Ernest and Billy Ransier, three daughters, Charlene Wynn, Kathy Marshall and Carol "Tina" Hiel, three step brothers Jeff, Larry and Sam Brittle, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 pm, Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.
