It’s going to feel like we went from Fall to Winter over the next couple of days. Today the sun will shine a bit, but temperatures will remain on the cool side across Kansas and Missouri as north winds prevail. Thursday will see precipitation develop across the region, possibly as early as the morning hours, though more likely during Thursday afternoon.
Temperature profiles indicate that precipitation during the daylight hours will likely be rain, with a bit of snow mixed in; but Thursday evening temperatures will drop, and what rain is out there will change over to snow.
Currently, only light accumulations, ranging from a trace to around 1 inch, of snow are expected during the late afternoon and overnight hours of Thursday into Friday morning. Otherwise, expect temperatures to remain well below normal through the weekend.
