The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2014 Ford Mustang driven by 18 year old Robert J. Dougherty of Butler, Missouri struck a horse that was in the roadway.
Mr. Dougherty sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by private vehicle to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The vehicle sustained minor damages and it was driven from the scene of the accident.
