On arrival officers made contact with Michael J. Chapman, 34, of Kansas City. After locating an outstanding warrant, officers attempted to detain Chapman in handcuffs.

It was learned that during the foot chase Chapman had thrown a handgun. That handgun had been reported stolen out of Gravette, Arkansas.

Chapman is currently in custody at the Barton County Jail on $11,000 bond for the charges of Resisting Arrest, Receiving Stolen Property, and for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
