Suspicious Person call leads to arrest in Harrisonville

On 02/26/2019, in the 900 block of S. Oakland Street in Harrisonville a citizen saw a suspicious person in the area of a storage building, and notified the Police Department.

Officers saw signs of forced entry and entered the building. Officers found several tools that had been moved from their normal location and stacked near the door.

Due to the size and amount of items in the building, a K-9 from the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded and located 37 year old Amos Matlock. Matlock was taken into custody and the Cass County Prosecuting Attorney charged him with felony Burglary. The bond was set at $5,000, cash only.

If not for the watchful citizen, Matlock may have gotten away with this crime. So, watch out for your friends and neighbors and if you see something that does not look right, give us a call at 380-8940 or 9-1-1.
