Butler man arrested in Johnson County

On 03/07/19 at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Latour area, located in the 1900 block SW 2 highway in attempt to locate and apprehend Robert Douglas, age 43, of Butler for active felony warrants.

Deputies made contact at a residence in Latour and obtained consent to search the residence. Deputies entered the residence and conducted a search. Deputies located Douglas attempting to flee the residence through the roof from inside the residence.

Douglas would not comply with deputies and resisted arrest. Deputies deployed their Taser and Douglas continued to resist. While resisting arrest, Douglas attempted to disarm the Taser from the Deputy while it was being administered.

Deputies prevented Douglas from making his exit from the residence. Douglas’s upper body was protruding through the exterior of the roof and deputies grasped his lower portion. Deputies entered onto the roof and Douglas was taken into custody.

Douglas is being held on a 24 hour hold for resisting/interfering with felony arrest, assault 3rd degree special victim, disarming a police officer.

Douglas is also being held on an active warrant for burglary out of Lafayette County, MO with a bond of $15,000.00 cash only and Probation Violation out of Henry County, MO for burglary with a bond of $10,000.00 cash only.

During the arrest two deputies sustained minor injuries and received treatment at Western Missouri Medical Center.
