17 Years for Michael Davis
Sentencing hearing for Michael Davis of Butler, Missouri was held today at the Bates County Courthouse.
Judge James Journey handed down two 15-year sentences on two counts of forced sodomy and two separate one-year sentences for sexual misconduct. Judge Journey ruled those sentences to run concurrently.
Attorney for the defense filed a last-minute motion for a new trial, that motion was denied by the court. During the hearing victim impact statements were read by the Victims and a Victim family member. Davis 59, was convicted in January and has been free on bond.
Michael Davis was taken into custody immediately after the hearing and will be transported within the next few days to the Missouri Department of Corrections to begin his serving his sentence.
