Fraud Investigation in Osceola

On March 5, a St. Clair County deputy took a fraud report from Glenn Mohr, Richard Reed, and Robert Dines. Mohr stated all three are members of the American Legion Post 618 in Osceola. Mohr stated he received a phone call from the bank stating the American Legion account was overdrawn. Mohr stated he went to the bank and got copies of the checks and bank statements.

Mohr stated there has been at least $12,000 taken out of the account since August of 2018. Mohr also stated that most of the checks written have a forged signature on them. Mohr advised they require two signatures on all checks.

The deputy spoke with Reed, who stated his name is forged on multiple checks. He stated he did not sign them or give anyone else permission to use his name on the checks.

Mohr stated there have not been any meetings and they have not voted to spend any money. A suspect was named.
