●Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body because your immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells.
● Lupus is more common among women of childbearing age (ages 15-44 years).
●Diagnosis is based on a physical exam and a history of your symptoms. Your doctor may order lab tests but no single blood test is diagnostic of lupus.
●Treatment will vary from person to person. It will depend on how active the disease is and which part of the body is involved. Treatment needs could change over time.
