From the Central Cass County Fire Protection District

No tax increase bond issue

Shall the Central Cass County Fire Protection District of Cass County, Missouri, issue its general obligation bonds in the amount not to exceed $1,600,000 for the purpose of providing funds to acquire, construct, renovate, improve, furnish and equip buildings, facilities and equipment to serve the District, including without limitation, to 1) renovate and improve Station 1 of the District, and 2) acquire firefighting and emergency apparatus and equipment.

As you can note there is not a levy added, as the District will provide the upgrades through the current $.15 per $100 assessed valuation. The upgrades are planned to fall within the current $.15 cent bond.

The primary project is to renovate or relocate Station 1, 2507 SE Outer Rd, Harrisonville. The station was built in 1979 and had living quarters added in 2006. The 2006 addition was completed with a modular trailer as a tempory fix. The modular trailer has served its purpose for 13 years however it is time to build a permanent structure.

In addition, the District will explore possible generators for three stations, parking lot upgrades, roof leak repairs, and other necessary equipment.
