Scam Alert in Bates County

The Bates County Sheriff's Office has been notified of a scam in our area again. The caller states that your loved one is at the Bates County Jail and you need to send a certain amount of money to bond them out.
Please be advised our staff will not call you and ask you for bail money. If you want reassurance you are always welcome to call us and verify that your loved one is or isn't in our custody.
