Subject in Custody After Pursuit Across State Line

Cass Co – On Thursday March 7, around 7:40 p.m. the Cass County Sheriff's Office Criminal Apprehension Unit was involved in a vehicle pursuit of a black 2008 BMW that deputies stopped near Lacy Lane and Lake Road in Belton, MO. 

After stopping, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Law enforcement agencies from Missouri and Kansas provided additional assistance during the nearly hour long pursuit through rural Cass County and into Kansas.

With the assistance of the Kansas Highway Patrol, the pursuit was ended in the area of Santa Fe Drive and Kansas City Road in Olathe, KS. There were no injuries.

Geoffrey B. Worman, 37 of Bucyrus, KS was taken into custody and booked into the Johnson County Detention Center for charges in Kansas and active Cass County warrants. A firearm, narcotics, and large amount of U.S. currency was found in the vehicle.

He has been charged in Kansas with Fleeing LEO Felony Reckless, bond $25,000 cash or surety.
