"All clear" given at Archie schools

Dear Archie Families, After law enforcement responded to the building in regards to this morning's reported threat, a full search of all school premises was conducted. As of 11:20 a.m., April 10, 2019 an "all clear" designation was given by the responding officers. For clarification the following was released as a press statement, "This morning, a district staff member discovered a threat against the District written on a bathroom stall. The staff member reported the matter immediately, and the district administration immediately began a response plan involving ensuring students were moved to a safe location, contacting law enforcement, and notifying parents of the decision to cancel school out of an abundance of caution and also in order to allow law enforcement to sweep the area. At this time, the District is not aware of who is responsible for the threat, but that is being investigated as well.

We appreciate the staff member’s vigilance in reporting the threat, rapid law enforcement response, and the calm and helpful way in which students and parents worked with us. Student safety is our top priority." A special thanks is extended to the Archie community for your supportive and cooperative efforts in responding to a difficult situation. School will be in session April 11, 2019 at the regularly scheduled time.
