Harrisonville man shot in leg, suspect in custody

On 04-15-2019 Officers with the Harrisonville Police Department were notified of a shooting that had occurred in the 900 block of Garden Way. During the investigation it was discovered that a single victim identified as Stephone G. Jones of Kansas City had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg which was not life threatening. 

A suspect was identified and taken into custody with out incident. The suspect was identified as L’Carre D.S. Smith of Independence, MO. L’Carre was charged with one count of Assault 1st degree an A Felony and one count of Armed Criminal Action also a Felony. L’Carre is currently being held at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office on a $50,000 cash only bond.
