News from the Bates County Courthouse

Mini Law Day Was held last Friday April, 5 at the Bates County Courthouse.
 

 Cases of note included:

Quentin E Ginther pleaded guilty on February 19, 2019. Sentencing was stayed till last Friday with Ginther receiving 5 years Supervised Probation for Felony Assault in the First Degree and 200 hours of community service and a 5 year Suspended Imposition of Sentence for the second count of Felony Assault in the First Degree. Judge Journey imposed a 3rd, 5 year Suspended Imposition of Sentence for 1st Degree Felony Tampering.

For Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Jacqueline Bennett, received a Suspended Imposition of Sentence with 5 years Supervised Probation, and 2, $10.00 fines for Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance and Misdemeanor Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Ramsey Foster also appeared before Judge Journey and stipulated to her 2 Probation Violations and was sentenced to begin serving 2, 5 year concurrent sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Kyle P Calhoun was sentenced to one 5 year sentence in the Missouri Department Of Corrections for Felony Possession and a 9 year Sentence for Felony Drug Trafficking with 120 ITC, those sentences were ordered to be served concurrently as well.

Bradley McDonald, also stipulated to his Probation Violation and was ordered to serve 5 years DOC. McDonald was also ordered to the Missouri Department of Corrections 120 day Drug Treatment program.

Maribel Mireles pleaded guilty on February 8 and was sentenced Friday on 4 separate counts. Felony Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance, Exceeding the Posted Speed Limit and Driving While Revoked/Suspended. Mireles was sentenced to a 5 Years Supervised Probation, 200 hours of community service, a $200.00 fine, $100.00 fine and $200.00 fine.

Prosecuting Attorney Hugh C Jenkins represented the State at Friday’s proceedings.
