Jim grew up in the Schell City / Harwood area and graduated from Schell City High School Class of 1958. While his health prevailed he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved gardening and sharing his crops. Jim was a great cook and loved to cook for family and friends. There were many fish fries and music also. He worked at Dairy Concepts in El Dorado Springs where he had been retired from for a number of years.
In addition to his wife Joyce, he is survived by three children, Diane Merryman, Russell Bacon, and Kristi Atkins; two step-children, Sherri Page, and Tammi Smith; five grandchildren; Billie Dawn Parsley-Mitha, Brandi Parsley, Kendra Dykes, Kellen Atkins and Kierra Coleman: three step-grandchildren; Kathy Blake, Jonathon Smith and Phillip Smith: two sisters, Jeane Wiess, and Janice Hooten; Many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
