Short police chase ends in arrest near Rich Hill

On May 17 2019 a Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in Rich Hill. The vehicle driven by Charles Davidson (DOB 7/6/1979) turned onto B highway and continued east. The vehicle then turned into a parking lot and accelerated quickly away from the Deputy.

Mr. Davidson then turned around and exited the parking lot turning west on B highway towards Rich Hill. Davidson continued to drive towards Hume at speeds between 75 and 90 mph. Approximately 1 mile east of V and A highway Davidson slowed down and came to a stop.

Mr. Davidson was taken into custody with no further issues. Davidson stated that he was running because he had a Probation and Parole warrant. Dispatch ran Davidson for any warrants and advised the Deputy that he had warrants out of Newton and Jasper Counties but no Probation and Parole warrant. The Jasper County warrant for burglary was extraditable.

Davidson was transported to the Bates County Jail and was charged with Fleeing. His bond was set at $20,000.00 cash or surety.
