Structure Fire in Butler

On Sunday, May 26 at 2:46 a.m. a Butler Police Officer, while on patrol, found smoke coming from a residence on north Water street. 

The Butler Fire Department was dispatched and upon arrival found fire in the basement extending upstairs into the living room. 

The fire was extinguished with heavy fire damage to the area of origin and smoke and heat damage throughout residence. All units were released from the scene at 5:15 a.m.

Mutual aid assistance was given by Adrian Fire, Butler Police, Bates County Ambulance and Bates County Sheriff's Department. Occupants were not home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.
