The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened when the 2003 Kenworth tractor trailer driven by 35 year old Emery B. Englehardt of Butler, Missouri was stopped when he struck from behind by the 1994 Toyota Camry driven by 69 year old David Bannister of Odessa, Missouri.
Mr. Bannister sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Liberty Hospital for treatment.
Neither Mr. Englehardt or two other passengers from Bethany, Missouri were hurt in this accident.
The Camry was totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by Sams Tow of Lathrop, Missouri.
