BCMH Auxiliary Spotlight

This is Bev Wainwright, and she loves to knit. Bev has been knitting for 30 years, and in the last four years she has donated her hand-knitted wash cloths – all 100% cotton - to the Auxiliary Gift Shop.

“We’ve sold a lot of them, especially at Christmas,” Bev says. “They make a nice gift.”

Bev has been volunteering for the BCMH Auxiliary since 2004, clocking 2700 hours (as of 2018).

“I really enjoy working here with the girls and all,” she says. Bev retired in 2002 from the Butler elementary school where she worked in the cafeteria.

Bev currently serves as the Auxiliary Historian.

Proceeds from Bev’s handiwork go toward the annual donation the Auxiliary makes to the hospital. Auxiliary members carefully select equipment purchases they would like to support, with an eye toward improving the patient experience. This year, the Auxiliary donated $25,000 to the hospital.

Let’s give Bev some love for her volunteer service! 🧶
