Hume Community News 7/2/19

The community of Hume lost some community and nearby members in the month of June.

We wish to extend our sympathy to the family of Buford Orear, graduate of Hume High School and a lifelong farmer.

Burford was quite a character and for those of us who had the pleasure of spending time with him enjoyed his stories so much. It is easy to see where his family and especially his granddaughters got their sense of humor from. He will always be remembered.

We also wish to extend our sympathy to the family of Steve Finley, also a graduate of Hume High School. Steve fought a brave battle against cancer. He was very loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

The community also wishes to extend their sympathy to the family of June Yarick. June, a farmer’s wife, worked just as hard keeping everything together and running smoothly. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of these families who have lost loved ones this past month.

Jess and Virginia Durbin hosted a dinner on Sunday, June 30 at the home in Fulton, Ks. Their son, Ray and Maria Durbin from Panama were here visiting, also Ray and Maria’s Son and daughter-in-law, Nathan & Pat Durbin and baby, Jacobi, who live in the States were here visiting. Those who enjoyed the day were; Jesse & Janice Durbin, Kelsi Durbin, Sterling & Carlie, Everett & Karen Irwin, Carrie & Vernon Brooks & Ben, Michala and Marissa Lanstberger, Jason & Cassie Irwin, Bennett & Isaac, Ryan & Cathie Wooldridge, Paxton & Easton, Jeffrey & Erika Irwin & Lane, Doug Durbin, Cory Durbin and friend, Maria Durbin, Manuel, Alicia & Jesse enjoyed the day of visiting, eating, reminiscing and picture taking.
