Standoff ends in arrest in Belton

On 7-29-19 at around 6:30 AM, officers with the Belton Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 8300 block of E 170th on a report of a man in crisis. Officers were also given information that the man had access to firearms.

Upon their arrival, officers contacted a man who was extremely agitated. This man proceeded to barricade himself in the home. With the assistance of the Cass County Sheriff’s Department and the Raymore Police Department, a perimeter was established to contain the situation.

Shortly after 12:30 PM, the man emerged from the residence to confront officers but was not armed. The man was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
