After 46 years of service, Paula Reed, Director of Materials Management and Environmental Services, retired from Bates County Memorial Hospital on July 31, 2019. Paula is pictured here with Dr. Bustle, CEO, at a retirement party in her honor.
Paula began her employment in May, 1973. She began as a posting clerk in the accounting department. In 1980, Paula transferred to the Purchasing Department has a storeroom clerk.
Paula later transferred to the position of Purchasing Director in 1984. In 2007, Paula also took on the additional responsibility of housekeeping and laundry. Over the past 46 years, Paula has seen tremendous changes in the healthcare field, including technology. Paula’s career at BCMH has been one of always learning and adapting to constant change.
Paula’s absence from the hospital will leave a void that will be difficult to replace. BCMH wishes her much happiness and joy in her retirement years.
